Edvion ("we", "our", or "us") operates an AI-powered tutoring platform for CBSE students. By using our website and services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account registration details — name, email address, grade level, and password
  • Profile information you choose to add, such as your school name or subjects of interest
  • Messages and questions you send to the Tutor AI
  • Photos or images you upload for the Photo Questions feature
  • Payment details when subscribing to a paid plan (processed securely via our payment partners)
  • Communications you send to our support team

Information collected automatically

  • Device information: browser type, operating system, screen resolution
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, time spent, exam scores, and learning progress
  • IP address and approximate geographic location (country / region level only)
  • Session identifiers stored in secure, HttpOnly cookies
  • Log data: error reports, crash logs, and performance metrics

Information from third parties

  • If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google
  • We do not purchase or receive data from data brokers

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your Edvion account
  • Deliver and personalise our AI tutoring, exam, and study-plan features
  • Track your learning progress and generate performance insights
  • Process subscription payments and manage billing
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, receipts)
  • Send product updates and educational tips — you can opt out at any time
  • Improve our AI models and product features using aggregated, anonymised data
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with our legal obligations
We never sell your personal data. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers located in India and/or the European Economic Area. We implement the following safeguards:

  • All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher
  • Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms — we never store plain-text passwords
  • Authentication tokens are stored in secure, HttpOnly, SameSite cookies
  • Access to production databases is restricted to authorised personnel only
  • Regular security audits and dependency scanning are performed

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

Third-Party Services

We work with a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

Children's Privacy

Edvion is designed for students of all ages, including those under 13. We take the following steps to protect younger users:

  • We do not display behavioural advertising to any user
  • We do not sell data belonging to users under 18
  • We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the service
  • Parents or guardians may contact us to review, modify, or delete their child's data

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at privacy@edvion.inand we will promptly remove it.

Cookies & Tracking

We use a minimal set of cookies:

  • Session cookies — secure, HttpOnly cookies that keep you logged in. These are strictly necessary and cannot be disabled.
  • Preference cookies — store your UI preferences such as theme or language.
  • Analytics cookies — anonymised usage data that helps us understand how people use Edvion. You may opt out via your browser settings.

We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion — request that we delete your account and personal data

Continued use of Edvion after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
